Like S!G said, everything needed is already in the device.

I'd like that B)

David, could you be so kind to forward this to the software team? This is exactly, as I'd like to see this point

Thanks for the tip on the projection with GPS off but I have found it useful to be able to project from a specific waypoint. I have used it in scouting proposed oil lease bdys which keeps all of the projected points relative to each other. It isn't always useful to project from current position. Obviously, the best way is to create the set of points or route on the computer before going to the field but sometimes it has to be done on the fly. I can't recall for sure, but i seem to remember that my old explorist 600 had that feature.

Hi phil, no complaint, the keyboard is way more importend and we got a way arround to do the projection. I didn't have it with my Tritons at all and I worked it out. It is just a question why! why do I have to switch of the GPS to select a point from where I want to project? I see no reason for that.
Have you seen? the new FW is out :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thank you for asking about this feature. I have several question from the german community about such a feature and would also like to see this by myself. This shouldn't be that hard to build in more smooth, since everything, that is needed for, is allready avail in the device.

It would be a little more convenient to have that capability but what's the point?
So you take maybe 3 to 4 minutes to project and create a new waypoint instead of it taking 1 or 2 minutes?

How many times do you actually have to project a waypoint?
I have done about 35 to 45 caches that required me to project a waypoint.
That's out of 1718 found caches, as of today.
And most of them I could do the projections either on the computer ahead of time or in the field from a point I was standing on.

Although the easiest way is if you have an iPhone, get the Geocaching Toolkit app, it will project waypoints, convert WGS84 - UTM -GRID, give distance & bearing between points, Intersect 2 lines, intersect 2 circles, rot13 decryption, convert roman numerals, etc.

I would rather see a better virtual keyboard and larger text in the driving directions on the 710 in the next few updates.
And the rattlesnake detector of course! :silly:

That's possible, but why do I have to do it that way?
I hope Maggi will give us the opportunity to use any point as starting point, without switching of the GPS in one of the next updates.

I would like to have the ability to project a new waypoint from a point on the map or another stored waypoint and not be limited to just my current position.
