310 After Firmware GPS Now When Unit Started Locks Up
This is caused by a problem in the update process. We do not know how this occurs but we do know that what has happened is that the 310 has become "unbranded". The user is seeing the Service Screen and it will not respond under this circumstance.

Here is a message we received from South America.   The customer updated his 310 and it created a problem.

Below is what the user reported

Problem As Stated:

Hi there:

Updating the eXplorist 310, the PC is turned off and leave me hanging GPS. Now when you turn the clock and Magellan logo appears, but not start. Where I can I send? For it to be repaired .. It is not entirely dead, because when you turn it by pressing MENU AND BACK-ON keys, MENU APPEARS:
Update from USB:

U) Update Bin
Y) Update Splash Screen
C) Rotating Clock Config

Update from SD:

nothing
nothing
L) Mass Storage

Other
V) Display Version
u) OS update org

If I select any of the options and I press the ZOOM + and ZOOM-key message appears:
Format FTL?

BACK key is cancel.

But it does happened. CAN YOU REPAIR?

Answer to User:

This is caused by a problem in the update process.  We do not know how this occurs but we do know that what has happened is that the 310 has become "unbranded".

The user is seeing the Service Screen and it will not respond under this circumstance.

To confirm this, just attach the 310 to the PC and it will send you an error message that the device driver for the S3C2440X (MPU) is not installed.

This is NOT repairable and the unit should be returned to Magellan regardless of whether it is or isn't under warranty.  This is a manufacturing flaw.
