====== Message from Member=====

I may have deleted some files by mistake thru Vantage Point.  I don't see world edition mapping at all and in turning on the Unit.  The GPS is ON and the satellite shows NO FF.

I read your article about changing 2 components on the mother board.Is there anything else I my try?

The Unit is a Magellin explorist 510 I bought Sept.2012 thru Amazon. tells me the warranty is up and that they would be more than happy to sell me a new one. I've used this Unit a total of 3 times ever!! Any input would be helpful

Thanx. Leo

Hi Leonard,
Let me see if we understand your problem. Your GPS works and you can attach it to your PC.
Hence you can see the internal memory files using VP.
OK .. if true then your problem has nothing to do with the components on the motherboard.
The problem is that you removed some critical files which allow the GPS to communicate with Satellite.
Please this first, reinstall the latest version for the 510 .. it is found on our website at: eXplorist 510 Update Version 7.24
If that does not cure the problem then you would have to send the unit into our repair service for service. This URL is:
When we receive the unit we will completely restore your internal files AND ALSO SET UP YOUR 510 WITH ALL THE USA SUMMIT AND CITY MAPS AND RELOAD THE WORLD MAP. In other words, we will turn it into a 610.
