I was asked to go furthur and describe how to remove the PCB
S1G (Steffen) wrote to me and ask me to go to the next step of removing the PCB board. Remember that these procedures are not as easy as I make it sound and you could ruin your unit.

JG is absolutely right with all the red lines. Do not try to do it just for fun. Only do so for a good reason! There is absolutely nothing between the PCB and the display, one can "tweek" or "adjust". There is a real chance to brick the device if you play around here.

WARNING: THE NEXT STEPS COULD RESULT IN YOUR RUINING YOUR GPS.  THESE STEPS APPEAR TO BE EASY BUT THEY COULD RENDER YOUR UNIT WORTHLESS.  WE DO NOT ACCEPT ANY LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY FOR ANY PEOPLE WHO USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.  PROCEED  AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Steffen asked me to describe the procedure to remove the PCB.  You would do this if your microphone was broken and had to be replaced.   If you want to change your LCD Display then you need an experienced Magellan Repair Center like our Jungle Ghost Repair Center to do this work.  We receive many units for repair in which the customer has damaged the ribbons, connectors and displays.  PLEASE DO NOT BE ONE OF THEM.

Removing the PCB from the front panel is tricky but here is the procedure:

1) Since you have already removed the tape from that holds the USB cable and Digitizer.
2) Move the lock on the digitizer to the back position.  Back is toward the center of the PCB.
3) Use the dentist pick to slide the digitizer ribbon cable out of its socket.
4) Remove the tape that is used to hold the LCD Display ribbon cable lock down.
5) With the Dentist Pick gently pull up the lock on the display ribbon cable.  It will move to a position perpendicular to the ribbon. (90 degrees)
6) Slide the display ribbon cable from its socket.
7) Take a thin bladed screwdriver and wedge it between one of the black connectors on the PCB and the main case.  There are only two connectors. Each one has an space for one of the o-rings.  Please make sure that you replace them with the o-ring side up.
8) The board will come loose
9) Please do not accidentally break the microphone leads when you lift up the PCB.
10) Also be careful that you do not accidentally move the waterproofing o-ring in the front panel out of position.

This will reveal the LCD Display.  STOP HERE .. DO NOT PROCEED UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
