Man, that hurts!!!
Actually I saw your post on Facebook and figured Justin would give you an answer, since he's the guy I get most of my answer from!!! Plus we've been having a major rummage/yard sale at the church and I've been out of the office for most of the past 3 days so I haven't been around my laptop to keep up with things. But I'm glad you got the answer you needed.... 🙂

Never mind David - I got an answer faster than you !
From the Magellan Outdoor page on Facebook, after I asked what this was for :
" Magellan Outdoor : The NMEA driver may be required to pass NMEA data from the GPSr to certain PC apps. Hence, if you are using your eXplorist in this fashion, then you should install the driver. Its great that NMEA comms are already working for you, but it's still a smart idea to have it installed! "
So now we know !

Use NMEA version 2.1, I had to go and reinstall the drivers for mine .... Device manager- find the Magellan USB device, update driver, no, manually, and point it to the Magellan Drivers folder. It found and updated the drivers, and it worked after that.
Mind you, I saw the new drivers download in the Add/Remove Programs panel, but I still don't know what exactly they do.... DAVID !!!!

I installed it, then tested it with Streets & Trips, and then Google Earth, and it seems to work for both. I'll try it on the Desktop which has Ozi on it, just to see if Ozi works with it too.
I don't know exactly what or where the drivers are, can't see anything obvious on the C: drive..... I'm doing a search, but nothing's come up yet...

Me too. I sent a comment a while ago, saying they should tell us what the password is for.... Maybe they just removed the password entirely.
It is so you can connect your GPS to the PC or laptop, and use it with OziExplorer, or Google Earth, or Streets & Trips, etc. Any 3rd party mapping software that accepts a NMEA input. This allows you to see your position on the map in real time. I've done this often with my old explorists, using Streets & Trips. Great for road navigation, much bigger map than a Car gps !
