Thanks, changing the map size to 18000 worked a treat!

I've made a map of 1.2Gb and it works fine.

Set the maximum size for the map to 18000 in the map size tab of settings in MOBAC.

I'm currently experimenting with MOBAC and getting custom maps on my 710. Large maps crash the unit (I assume not enough memory) but will smaller tiles be fine? Are there optimum settings somewhere I've not seen on the internet that will make moving maps as smooth as possible and cover the largest expanse?

Sorry for all my questions, I've come from a Garmin GPS and am keen to learn all I can about the Magellan Explorsits and what they can do!
