Thanks,
Didn't think to look under "Legend" to set color.
Appears that they could be using BGR coding like google Earth without the transparency value.
Will Have to play with it some, wonder what happens if a color value is used that isn't one shown in Vantage Pt and is loaded onto the GPS?
Finally got a response from Magellan today that was a pointer to an XML schema file (Doesn't include color/flags extensions).
Created 12 short tracks and set colors from legend. Exported - modified one to a darker lavendar setting and imported into Vantage point - showed up as modified color on screen and Legend.(Showed up as current color, was not in list below).

I have no idea about the programing to translate anything.
On the Explorist the active track will be a solid line, all other tracks will be a series of points.
On my earlier post the picture with a yellow track you will see the blue track is active, a solid blue line, and you can see a series of red points under the blue track. That track was saved as red, making it active put the solid blue line over it.
The colors are chosen on Vantage Point.
On Vantage Point to edit the tracks;
Right click on the track;
.
Then click 'Legend';

.
Choose 'Edit' to edit the track;

.
Choose 'Play' to play back the track on the map;

.

Going thru the explorist manual, I couldn't find any reference to multiple tracks nor controlling track color etd. Don't see the ability to view/edit track color information in Vantage Point either.
Manual seemed to indicate that a track appears as one pattern.
It is great that it can do that, getting information from Magellan seems to be almost impossible.
So, What colors are available for tracks and routes and how are they specified? Need to know to be able to translate the colors as well as symbols from other vendors .gpx files.
Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by "For a device that doesn't allow viewing a network of trails (tracks),
this would be a huge feature, without, it is definitely a deal breaker for my using/recommending an Explorist."
My 710 will show all saved tracks;
.

This is a screen shot of two tracks I made over two days.
The red I made placing a geocache, the blue I made going to it from another point.
.

The same with this shot, the yellow I made a week before I made the blue track.
.

To have more than 200 tracks on the X10 edit the Atlas.ini file and change the following data;
; Default: 65536 (0x10000) - max UGDS BIN file size: 256Mb
BAT_Length = 65536
MaxWaypointsCount = 2000
MaxGeocachesCount = 10000
MaxTracksCount = 200
MaxTrackPointsCount = 10000
MaxRoutesCount = 200
MaxRoutePointsCount = 200
into;
BAT_Length = 262144
MaxWaypointsCount = 10000
MaxGeocachesCount = 10000
MaxTracksCount = 500
MaxTrackPointsCount = 50000
MaxRoutesCount = 500
MaxRoutePointsCount = 500

Also interested in capability of turning tracks into an Explorist map overlay.
Incredibly easy for DeLorme PNs, doable with Garmin via gpx2img ($20).
For a device that doesn't allow viewing a network of trails (tracks),
this would be a huge feature, without, it is definitely a deal breaker for my using/recommending an Explorist.
Have requested information from Magellan via several methods, but no results yet.
New Garmins allow 200 tracks loaded/displayed, older 20, older yet 10 (usable, but more work reloading new tracks for different areas. (map overlays are easier to enable/disable and less overhead)
Currently have over 1,900 miles of bike trails as 204 tracks, or via Garmin & DeLorme map overlays.
OOps, It appears that they can display more than one track at a time.
Could not get any indication of that from manual or vantage point.
