I don't think you can change the destination folder, but you can move them yourself if you want them on the card.
Generally I put my maps on the card and leave the geocache files on internal memory.
I've had over 9,000 caches loaded with no problems.

How can you change the destination folder in GSAK to transfer geocaches, waypoints and photos into the eXplorist 710?

By default, these datas are stored in internal memory under x:Geocaches, x:Waypoints and x:MediaImagesGeocaches.

Of course it would be nice if you could encourage GSAK to use the space on the external micro SD card. But how? 😉
