Although I would also like to see a WhereIGo player incorporated into the unit – I wouldn’t bet on that one. One my caching buddies has some pretty big ears inside of Ground Speak and the buzz on WhereIGo is that it is going to disappear - or at least be brushed off to the side as something other than a Geocaching cache type in the future!

It´s seems in the European 1.5FW one problem is fixed.

I have a new unit which comes with this new release 1.5.

And I have no more problem with the 10.000 miles/km bug.

I really hope Magellan will release a 2.0 when the big eX x10 come out and fixes the 3-4 other things.

After that it could be a perfect gc unit.

It would be interesting to see them add a Whereigo player to the unit. Then it would be a more complete caching device.

Slice 🙂

Ive had the GC for 2 months now and these are the things I think need to be addressed:

The 10,000 Mile Bug
If you scroll to the top of the screen in really any resolution, the cursor will jump 10,000 miles away.. Not fun when you are up in the mountains trying to find a waypoint and the GPS won't cooperate with you.

Manual GPS Update
Because this is a gps based bearing, you need to physically move to get a bearing. Sometimes you are within 0-12 feet of a cache, move a little, and want to know if you are closer. It would be really nice to have an "update my location now" button and force an update rather than the internals of the device just waiting.

More GPS granularity
Im not an expert on the hardware but I would assume its set to update every second or something. It would be nice if it would update at a faster rate as you get closer and closer to the cache, rather than having to do several walkbys or a circle to verify your position.

Current Trip vs. Battery Replacement.

The gps has the ability to track your trip. If you have to replace the batteries during a hike, the route gets confused and doesn't give you all the outting information, its almost like it starts over.
