If you aren't able to download, but know the co-ordinates of a cache that you are interested in, you can enter them manually.

Not trying to be a smart *ss about it, on the contrary...just for a fun statement.... I have 'on occasion' just looked at the cache page and read the description and depending upon the type of hide you can find them without any GPS of any sort....but those of us who've cached for some time already know that. Sometimes makes it that more fun (or frustrating depending upon how you look at it LOL). No downloading, or GPSr required....fun fun!!!! LOL

No... There is no way for the GPS to know the cache information without loading it to the device. The GPS isn't like a smart phone has has a cellular connection to the internet; therefore, the only way it can find the cache data is for you to provide it via .loc file, .gpx file or by manually imputting the information.

I'm new with my explorists GC and would like to know if it is possible to find caches without downloading them first?
Thanks
