Go to your map page and press menu. Scroll down to just about anything and hit the Select button which takes you to another menu where you can choose settings. The settings that you have highlighted are the ones that will take effect. You can review your settings, change your choice a few times before you exit, and the items you had left highlighted are the choices that will take effect when you exit. Very logical, intuitive, and easy to learn and use.

But, from the map page menu, scroll down to the 4th line which will say "Map" or "Map+Compass". Press the select button and this will toggle the choice back and forth each time. Then scroll down 4 more lines to "North Up" or "Heading Up". Press the select button and the choice toggles each time. What you see on the screen should be the settings that take effect when you exit the menu, right? No, wrong! If it said "Map+Compass" when you exited then it will show only the map. If you selected "North Up" and exited then your Heading direction will be at the top of the page. Totally opposite of what you expect, very confusing.

I hope this gets fixed in the next firmware release. Here is a way to make it consistent with the other option settings: Show both choices on the same line and use the left-right toggle to highlight one or the other. For example, make the line say: "Map / Map+Compass". Move the lever to the left and the field behind "Map /" is highlighted. Move the lever to the right and "/Map+Compass" is highlighted. Whichever one was highlighted when you exit Back will be the choice that takes effect. If you want that choice to happen immediately and exit immediate, then move the toggle to highlight your choice and press the select button which will close the menu with that setting in effect. Same way with "North Up/Heading Up". Other pages have some binary choices that could benefit from this way too.
