I'm only at 41 so far and cam already see what you are saying. I have adjusted my PQ 's to leave out my finds and it seems to make it easier to see where to go next.

You're going to find that keeping the caches you've already found really get to be a negative. I used to do that same thing, but once you've found a couple of hundred they begin to clutter the screen and the database and once you’ve found 1,000 when your pocket queries between to become useless. Not to say what happens when you get to the multiple 1,000s. To be honest, I clear the history in my GPS almost every time I got caching, because once I hit the 500+ mark I noticed that my GPS performance started to decrease having to keep track with all of my finds. So the best practice is to have your PQs limited so that they do not include your found caches and just begin to act like they no longer exist!!!

Thanks for the info. Fortunately, I'm new to geocaching and it won't take long to mark the few I have found again.

Welcome to the forum, we try to answer any questions anyone has.

The found marker from a PQ will not show on the GC.
The only way they show as found is if you mark them, on the GC, as found.
The new PQ will over write what caches are already on the GC with any new data but the found mark will disappear.

The way to keep your found caches marked as found on the GC is do not include them on a new PQ, just keep them in the GC.

When in trouble or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout

I like to keep the few caches I have found on my Explorist GC. For some reason, they are showing up but not marked as found.

The caches had been showing up as found but that changed when I uploaded a new PQ recently, the found marker had disappeared.

Thanks
