After running some errands and saving trips on my GC I found that when you 'start trip', go on a journey and then 'stop and save trip' it clears any earlier saved trip and saves the trip you were just on.
The GC will only save one trip as a track.
If you do not start a trip but just clear 'active track' when you start out then load the active track to Vantage Point at the end of the day you will have your day's travels on the map.
The track can be edited on Vantage Point.

Like I said earlier the GC is a pretty basic unit geared specifically to geocaching.
The active track will show on the map of the GC but you can't access it on the unit.

Unfortunately the GC is a basic unit geared to geocaching.
But when you 'stop and save trip' it saves it as a track.
You can not access the tracks on the unit, but you can download them to Vantage Point on your computer.
Vantage Point is a free mapping program from Magellan that works on Windows.
On Vantage Point you can see them displayed on the map and get the information of the track, distance, speed, time, elevation etc.

I don't know how many tracks can be saved on the GC, I'll take mine out tomorrow and experiment and report back here.

The Explorist 510 might be a better unit for you, with much more memory, better maps and it can save 200 tracks that are accessible on the unit as well as on Vantage Point.

Hi:
I am a new guy here. I have an Explorist GC. My wife bought it for me for Christmas without knowing that it was particularly suited for geocaching which I do not do. I use my GPS mostly for work and for recording tracks or trips. I am having a problem that maybe someone could help with. When I start a trip and then select “stop and save trip” from the menu in Maps, I don’t know where it saves it to or how to recall it?
Any help would be appreciated.
