thanks to everyone's suggestions. i had gone about it the intended way through the menu, etc. but, i ended up having to return to factory settings. that wasn't enough so i went to the memory and cleared that through the menu. in all it took about four different steps to wipe the memory. then i was able to upload cache from GSAK no problem. the GPS seems to be running faster, too.

One of the big memory problems that arises with the GC, eX110 and eX310 which is also a problem with the eX510, 610 and 710; but not as noticable due to the greater amount of memory - is that the Geocache images are not deleted when you clear/delete all of the caches from the unit. Therefore, after a while the unit begins to fill up with pictures. So, the easiest way to fix this issue is from time to time to go into the imagesgeocache directory and delete all of the images after you delete all of the caches and waypoints.

I just tried my GC, I brought up the geocache list, pressed menu, scrolled all the way down to Delete All & deleted them all.
Then I brought up Waypoints, pressed menu, scrolled down to Delete All & deleted them all.

They are gone and stay gone after shutting down and starting back up.

You could also connect the GC to the computer, it will show up as a device with Removable storage and will be named Magellan.
Open it with double click, then open the geocaches file and delete everything in the geocaches file.
Now go back and open the Waypoints file and do the same with that.

Now the GC will have no cache files on it.

GSAK will remove all the caches from the GPSr while it loads a new batch to it.
On GSAK click GPS & Send Waypoints then click Clear from GPSr before send and pick all of them like I have in the picture.

i am new to this group and new to discussion boards. i looked through some of the topics and didn't see anything that answers my question. i use GSAK to load the GPSr and have reached full capacity. i would like to delete ALL cache from the unit. i go through the menu and follow the steps to do this. it appears to complete the process, but when i restart the unit - there are all the cache listings once again! we are going on a trip this weekend and it is upsetting me to think i might have to use the phone for the whole trip! can someone please help? i thought a factory reset? but cannot find info on that. thanks!
