At the CITO event I went to, I believe it was last month, I was told that the mount would be coming out around November, however, they were just working out a couple of things with it, because the same mount is supposed to fit the GC, eX510, eX610, eX710 and I believe that said something about and adapter for the tough case - but don't hold me to that. As far as any other accessories, well the case for the GC is already out and nothing else was mentioned!

Later,
David

A rep from Magellan just sent me an email and mentioned November. I didn't ask what accessories would be available though. Not sure there's an answer for that yet.

Hey, that's a great idea. I could have one of those made today. Thanks for the link!

I haven't seen any accessories yet.
I'm using a generic cell phone holder in my truck, it works fine.
I would recommend a Zag screen protector for the GC at least, the unit seems to be pretty robust so far.
Take a look at this thread in this forum - LINK
Someone made a bike mount for his GC.

This forum isn't 'official' but the Magellan people do pay attention and respond to our questions & problems.

Just got my XGC yesterday and have been fiddling with it a bit, getting ready to start the cache hunt with the wife soon...

Well... I'm one of these people that will buy a cover/protector for something before I even purchase the item. My phone, my car alarm fob, whatever. Cover it, and it tends to last a lot longer.

I bought my XGC at Target for the "temporarily reduced price" and then started looking around the internet for covers. I don't care, silicon, neoprene, whatever. Something that I can put on the unit to protect it and still USE it. Not a pouch not a "case" but a COVER to protect it from a small drop, dirty fingers... And I did not find a dang thing for accessories except a vehicle power adapter, which apparently is the same one as any mini-USB DC charger.

Then I also realized that there are no mounts available specifically for this unit. I'd like to put it on my bike, as we intend to use my Garmin Nuvi to get near the site, and then use the XGC to guide us to the cache from there.

Are there any plans for this stuff to be released? It's been 6 months now. Is this an official Magellan associated site that takes input to devices and suggestions like these? Or should I be asking them directly about this?

Thank you for your time, I'm just a tad surprised and am hoping for some answers.
