I was out geocaching with my triton on the weekend, which brought to mind some things I hate about it that I hope the new X series will have improved upon.
First, when you go to the search screen, and it searches for nearest, does it also indicate how far it is from your present point and in what direction? I appreciated my explorist more for at least letting me know how far the nearest cache was. The triton you have to navigate through a bunch of screens or load it, check it and then decide if that is where you want to go
Are waypoints editable? If I am doing a multi and the next stage is in the cache, by that I mean can you just change the coords of the present location?
If I think of any more, I will post again!

Will these new units average a waypoint, and if so, can one turn it off/on manually?
I hope that the User Grid features work for Trans Merc and Lambert. Both the Triton, and Garmin 62s, were suppoe to, but don't.
With WAAS 46 coming out of the test mode, and being set in the normal mode
in the coming weeks, I wonder if we will have to wait on a revision from Maggie to get it. Any tester picking 46 up now, while in the test mode?
Hope that I'm posting in the right place.

Q: Will there be a summit and city (routable) series map for Canada?
A: Yes, eXplorist 610 Canada will ship with preloaded Summit Series Canada map. There will also be a City Series North America available for download from MGPS.com soon.

A: Yes, the 710 have a larger flash memory - 8GB compared to 4GB.
Q: when will the units be available in Europe?
A: Depends on the country, but assume Q1 for all the major markets.
Q: will there be any map differences for Europe?
A: Yes, 610EU will have Summit Series Europe preloaded and 710EU will add City Series EU to the Summit Series map.

How many geocaches can be loaded? Is it like the old explorist where I could only have 200 geocaches, but 500 waypoints in various databases on the SD card?
Do you have to use VP?
Are there Mac options to loading?
I can answer these now:
Up to 10,000, all in one file, or separate GPX files. They will all be available at one time.
No, GSAK, or a direct drop (GPX) into the geocaches folder will do the trick.
Yes, just load it as an external drive.

Hi,
- are there any hardware differences between the x610 and the x710?
- Are there any other hardware differences (appart from barometric sensors & 3 axis compass) between the x510 and the x610 & x710 units?
(alternatively detailled tech specs will do  )
- when will the units be available in Europe?
- will there be any map differences for Europe?

I'm looking for ANY and ALL questions you may have. I will be sending all questions from this thread to my contacts at Magellan, and will post all responses received. Please remember that not all questions will be answered, but please don't hesitate to ask them! I'd like to get as much info for members as I can here.
The deadline for this Q&A will be Friday, October 15th. That morning, I will send it on to Magellan.
