Does anybody know if/how to load music to a 710?
What format will play?
I tried dragging an m4a and an mp3 file to media, the unit doesn't see them.
I then tried the voice memo to record a song playing on my pc, it recorded it but it won't play it, says it can't load it.
The voice memo works ok with just me talking.
Is there a limit to the length of the voice memo?
The song is 2:36 minutes.
When I recorded 40 seconds of the song it played back.
It looks like the unit is not capable of having music on it. 🙁
Unless Sockeye's mod is loaded?

It has many devices listed as compatible, mostly phones, but for only 2 bucks I ordered one (added to an order for other stuff) to find out if it works with the 710.
In a few days we'll know. 😉

Ok, question for the techies.... does this work on any kind of USB device that has audio output, or is it for a specific device ?

The trick will be finding headphones with the right plug, or an adapter for it. That's not gonna be common and Magellan should consider selling them.

When I first got the 710, I had asked customer service if the USB jack could be used for audio and they said no. This is great news for me, because I used the audio jack all the time when I used my Triton 1500. Now where can you find USB headphones?

Ok guys, I asked our friends at Magellan about the Audio Jack and Yes there is an Audio Jack and No there isn't an Audio Jack! :huh:
Here is the official answer:
Thanks David. This is a typo. It should be “no.” I will have the web team correct. (This is about the Audio Jack Spec on the Website)
FYI – The USB connector is a three way comm. It supports data, power, and audio. Therefore, you can buy USB headphones if you want to hear audio…

Nope, the only boot is for the USB cable connector.
My poor luck seems to be with just software, I've had great luck with the unit, except for dropping it in the Charles River, and in a 6 foot snow drift, and in a big pile of fresh cow patties. :ohmy:I'm just a clumsy oaf, perhaps I lost the audio jack in the cow patty. :woohoo:

Nope, the only boot is for the USB cable connector.

There isn't a peel-off rubber boot on it somewhere, like T-500 ? I'd be surprised they say there is if there actually isn't one.... although as lucky as you are, yours slipped through the lines at that step .... !

On the 710 Specifications page it lists Stereo Audio Jack Yes.
I was wondering if anyone else has an audio jack on their 710, there is no audio jack on mine!
