No it won't automatically go to the card.
You have to move files to the card.
The waypoints/geocache files don't use much memory, but the maps do.
I have over 6,000 geocaches and 2500 waypoints on my 710 internal memory.
Waypoints - 1.64 MB
Geocaches - 38.8 MB
Images - 4.53 MB
Media - 134 MB
Maps - 3.34 GB
The maps use much more memory, move the maps to the card.
When in trouble or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout

When I connect my explorist 510 to my computer it shows up as two drives: one for the internal memory on the unit and one for the SD card I added to it. I see that the unit is starting to get pretty full, but the SD card still has no waypoints on it. Once the internal memory fills up, will the overflow just automatically go onto the SD card?
