I went ahead and reported this issue to Magellan, just in case they're not aware of it yet.

Looks like 3.22 for the 610, 3.23 for the 710. The real key is do not assign Sun&Moon or Fish&Hunt to a shortcut key. This solved the problem for me. I'm sure it is something they will fix in a firmware update.

Very cool. I was assigning a key to Sun&Moon. I tried a few other shortcuts, not Sun&Moon, and they were saved. I hope they fix that too.

Thanks much everyone,

Interesting. It says "Explorist 710, software v. 3.23". When I start up my Explorist 610 the startup screen says, among other things, v. 2.62. I went out on the Magellan site and it looks like the latest version is 3.22.

v. 2.62??? Is this really the software version? I've had the unit about a month.

Is there somewhere else the software version may be located?

Thanks,
--Walt

Hi Walt,

No secret, you should see a window with Shortcut Saved after you select the function your after. Do recieve that message.

I have never had it not work on the x710.

Graham.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, But whenever I assign a function to a button in the One Touch menu the function isn't there the next time I turn on the x610. I HAVE managed to save one function; it shows up every time. But all the other buttons I've assigned are gone next time I power up the unit.

I'm not sure what I did right with the one that was saved, or what I'm doing wrong with the rest of'em. Am I missing a step or is there a secret to it?

Thanks,
--Walt
