Well, that answered one question pretty quick so here's another, did you load it through VP or GSAK?

Since I was able to get the Beta Version of VP 1.94 I've been using it for a few weeks with the eX610 and it has worked flawlessly and according to my stop watch it loads about 106 caches a minute - however, you can drag and drop the file in about 5 seconds!!! However, if you want the pictures from the HTML descriptions you have to use VP. Unlike the GC, this unit actually shows the pictures in the description section of the Geocache info!!!

David, thanks for the pictures & screen shots.
I was wondering about size (unit & screen) compared to Triton 2000 and your pictures answered that for me.

I have two questions, does it have a screen lock for the touchscreen?
And how is the screen visibility in sunshine?

Now I just have to wait a few of weeks huh?
Well, I've got a lot of work to do around the house, that might take my mind off the wait.
I just got a refurbished Panasonic 'Tough Book' laptop that I figured would take a week or two to get up & running but it's working perfectly, nothing to tinker with!

Thanks again for the pictures.

The answers are Yes and Yes!!! It eX610 does have a screen lock, however, it isn't a physical button like the Triton 1500&2000. Once you lock the screen to have to tap it and then slide you finger from left to right to unlock the screen. As far as the seeing the screen in the bright sunlight, oh yeah, it is multiple times better than my Tritons. I'm getting a wee bit older and I've always had a problem with seeing them in the bright sun here in the Mojave Desert - however, I'm not having any problems with this unit. To be honest, I almost feel guilty because, except for the T400 that I mount the handlebars of my ATV and dirtbike, I'm starting to leave my Tritons at home when I head out to do some serious caching!!!

Great shots! I fixed the last one in your first post, I assumed it was 9, and it was! Hey, what's the stopwatch looking thing next to the backlight indicator and battery gauge? Believe it or not, I haven't seen that thing yet. Electronic compass indicator? I only have a 510 so far, it's all they had left.

Hey Whip,

You hit the nail on the head - the little red indicator is showing that I needed to calibrate the electronic compass. Normally it looks like a little compass.

VP wasn't an option yet, but it is now! GSAK still isn't (EDIT - It works now!). I did a good old drag and drop. I will try through VP soon.

I should mention that when you plug in the x10, it comes up as two, yes two, drives. Why you ask, well you can load EITHER the SD card or internal! I loaded the microsd, with both maps and caches.

Some things to note:

- The units feel incredibly solid
- The speaker is PLENTY loud, even for voice notes.
- It Vibrates! Coolest thing if you're hunting and into silence B)
- Screen is very easy to read in direct sunlight, even for touchscreen!
- It's accurate!
- Photos taken will automatically geotag themselves, and show up on your map screen if you so desire.

NO, i repeat ZERO lockups so far! I've loaded 8000 geocaches into the unit, no issues.
