I don't know what the odometer is measuring but the track is measuring the distance from point to point on the track. It will cut corners now & then while set to auto.
Maybe setting the track to 5 seconds will give you a more accurate measurement to compare to the odometer?

I use my Exp 610 to measure the distance of my walking path. I reset the odometers and clear the active track right before I start walking. I save the track right as I stop walking. The odometers usually read 4.2 or 4.22 miles for the path. The distance in the saved track is always less (4.14, 4.16. 4.17 miles). Why the difference? Which one should I believe as the correct distance walked? I have the track set to auto continuous.
