Have the translation app working for Explorist.

A waypoint file containing all of the symbols in this file
was generated from the application.
Here are the images

I threw out all the unnecessary. My program (PointPaste) writes to GPX as follows:

	<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<gpx>
<wpt lat="29.56458333" lon="48.21563889">
<name>Point1</name>
<ele>252</ele>
<cmt>Test point</cmt>
<sym>House</sym>
</wpt>
</gpx>

VantagePoint and eXplorist 310 opens this file.

Read a small GPX file into Vantage point and exported the data to get the Explorist GPX format info. Added eXplorist symbols to my app and added some code for writing that format. MS will not load the file properly, it doesn't like the doubling of all of the "/" characters in the second line in the file.
Why is Vantage point insanely outputting the gpx line?

If you look at code on this posting you will see more slashes than are visible.

In the eXplorist 110-710 icons are the same. In Triton strong discrepancy.
Nonexistent icons will be displayed as Flag Orange. This is not an error.

Install the Magellan VantagePoint. You will be able to see what she writes GPX files.
In the folder Program FilesMagellanVantagePointMediaWaypoints32x32 all the icons and their names.

I have an application (free) that does actual translation of .gpx files between vendors and series within vendor. (Not a conversion program like gpsBabel etc.) The symbol translation and KML output is configurable.
Application also allows for direct output to Google Earth .kml with appropriate sybmols & colors etc.

So far it supports Garmin, DeLorme and (Lowrance Endura except routes).
(Currently doesn't read/write geocaches.)

Can't seem to get any information from Magellan, they sent request on to "engineers", but no information after months.
Need sample .gpx files for the devices and any variences between series.
Also need gpx symbol names for all of the icons they use.

This is a Google Earth image GE_mfp_wpt.jpg

of .kml generated from program for trails in Mt Falcon Park on the SW side of the Denver Metro area.
KMZ file is here
