I gave up using VP to load the GPSr long ago.
VP would be too slow and would sometimes not load all the caches.
I can load maps, tracks and routes from VP to the 710 OK.
I load caches, wpts and tracks from the 710 to VP without problems.
Now I either drag & drop the GPX files or use GSAK to load the 710.

When in trouble or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout

I've learned to just drag the gpx file straight into the unit from my folders after downloading, and have all caches there. I HAVE noticed that you can select / deselect different cache types to search for. Any chance the 2 or 3 caches you were missing on the eX were say, multis, or puzzles or something else ? Maybe not, but if so it could be a likely cause.

I don't go thru VP anymore, as I don't get the Owned By, or the attributes this way (I do get the cache page pics though). Dragging & dropping the gpx gives me the Owned By, and the attributes, but no pics. Something with VP I think.... they're working on it.

This has probably already come up somewhere but I couldn't find it - I have always pulled the GPX query into VP and then hooked the GPS up and clicked the "transfer from PC to GPS" mode. I thought it was working fine. But last weekend I did this on the EX710 and the Triton 2000. While we were geocaching 3 caches came up on the Triton that were NOT on the 710. I looked back at VP and they were on the transfer list. One of the caches had several links in the description, but the other two didn't.

Does anyone know why some geocaches didn't transfer from VP to the 710? I'm getting ready for a trip to Colorado and want to load the 710 before I go, but am worried I might miss some of the best caches!! B)

Note: I have not done the new firmware install yet.
