Go to 'Tools' scroll down to product demo.
If you tap it it will activate the stupid slide show.
.

.
Go back to 'Tools' and tap 'Stop Product Demo';

Wonder if something is triggering (or maybe you have it set to run) that "demo" or "display" mode that the thing has? Can't remember where it's at right off hand but that's the only thing I remember my unit displaying maggie stuff on it's own since I've owned my 710....

Here's some settings I use all the time.

I never want it to turn off.
If it is on alkaline the rechargeable batteries show more life and last longer before shutting down.

.
I like it bright and loud. I also have it set to make button sounds.

With the track logging set to 10 seconds you get the most accurate track.

My 710 has never shown anything but the map and driving directions.
I have used it driving to Florida and back to Boston with it running for 10 - 12 hours a day in turn x turn mode.
Are you running it on batteries or a vehicle adapter?
If you are running on batteries check the timer setting for suspend and set suspend to never.

I don't know anything about a slide show.

Explorist 710
When using the vehicle turn by turn mode is there a way to set a screen time out.

It appears about every say 2 minutes that the Magellan screen starts popping it pictures across the screen instead of displaying the navigation map. is there a way to set this time setting?

Also is there a way to load your own slide show instead of the default Megallan slide show when the timeout occurs noted above?

So basically you can select your own slide show or optional slide show when timeout occurs

Just curious............
