So you only tried one setting?
Try every setting there is and compare the quality between them.

When in trouble or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout

Well, it's not sticking per say...just a bit choppy in playback not really smooth. I'm not having trouble with it shaking all over the place.

I'm wondering if it's because I have all the settings on max for resolution and the quality set on HD? I would "think" that would make for the best video taking??? Just seems (and no, I don't expect a 60fps video) like it should be better video quality with those types of settings. That really is a pretty high resolution compared to desktop pc's...maybe not so much compared to other HD video cams I guess.

So everyone is pretty much feeling what they have is pretty good? What settings are you all using for the video capture? Wondering how fine compares to the HD....

Does anyone know of a way (or perhaps it's just my unit) that I can get better video capture on my x710? Whenever I capture a video it just doesn't look very smooth animating at all...fairly choppy. I'm wondering if it's just mine or does everyone else seem to think so as well?

Is the problem with the video sticking or is the video just all over the place. I have noticed that the video recorder on the unit doesn’t have a great stabilizer built into it and trying to watch a video made while moving, whether it be hiking, ATVing or in the 4x4 will make you want to vomit when you watch it back. As far as choppiness like sticking or freezing, no I haven’t seen that…

Connect the unit to your PC and start a defragmentation routine for the internal memory of your 710.
This should speed up writing speed for video capture.
