I spent about an hour with support and tried various things. Support had a 710 to compare with mine, and the first time they started it up and tried the suspend button, it didn't go into suspend properly. It worked the second time though. We tried reinstalling firmware 3.23 with and without the batteries, using Vantage point and not using Vantage point. and clearing the memory. The first time I tried the suspend after reinstalling the firmware with Vantage point it went into suspend mode. It would not go into suspend again though.
The final solution is to get a new GPSr sent to me. I copied the files that were on the GPSr onto my computer at home shortly after taking it out of the box (I own a Triton by the way). I wonder if I should try replacing the files to see if that works.
