Thank you but i have used another 610 handset with no problems until that had a problem which was verified today buy an expert who also had a look at my replacement handset which indeed had a problems to lock onto a satellite which made it diff to move onto the menu's etc, twas a simple thing but once sorted by the expert it is now up and running perfectly ...Thanks to Mark much appreciated and now sorted

OK, but the one touch (top right) is just a shortcut to waypoints or addresses you have entered into the unit.
Press the top left for the dashboard.
Press the bottom left for the main menu.
Press the bottom right for an options menu for whatever page you are on.
If you haven't yet I would recommend downloading the user's manual from the Magellan web site, the printed manual that comes with the unit is only a start-up guide.
These units have a bit of a learning curve but once I 'got it' they are fairly intuitive to use.

Thank you for your reply, I have pressed on only for 2 secs or so still cant get pass the one touch button (top right )screens dialog etc but have been in contact with the store and they have arranged for me to meet up with a Magellan tutor as he was travelling thru today luckily for me .. he did try over the phone but sthought better to see in person if poss.. will post outcome later ...Excellent service from the vendors so far

The only thing I can think of that might be different from at the store and home is are you starting it properly?
You have to hold the on button down for a few seconds until "Magellan" appears on the screen, then let go of the button & wait.
It will take about 40 seconds for it to index data and come on.
I know of someone who's child repeatedly pressed the on button before it came on and the unit would not work.
My apologies if this seems a bit condescending but I can't think of anything else that may be causing your problem.

Apologies if posting in the wrong forum , had to exchange my prev handset of 2 weeks old 610 handset yesterday as it had develped a prob , now on the replacement unable to bring up the dashboard etc as all seems to freeze have new batteries in and update done, screen seems non responsive ....did go straight back to the store and it worked ..back home and again nothing will work really fed up with it any ideas please ,
