Thank's for the hint.

I just got off the phone with customer support, they called me in response to the message that David sent them on my behalf.
They never got any of the e-mails I sent.
They are looking into the contact page to see what happened, I suspect it's a problem using Firefox.
They reset my account with my password.

I also found it only works with IE, not Firefox.
That's OK, I can use IE for my Maggie account.

I don't know what was causing the trouble but I had tried for a week with IE, Firefox and Safari to contact them and access my account.

When they did learn of my problem they got it fixed immediately!

Good work by Customer Support. :cheer:

I'm a happy camper again. B)

Thank you David for your help.

This is an update to the dilemma of retrieving my old account.

Magellan Customer Service solved the problem in one day. They sent to me a redirect link that allowed me to put in my old account and password and now I can log in.

However; as I found out .. this only works with I.E. and not FireFox.

CS was great and gave me the answer within one day.

Good Work!! Magellan Customer Service.

I got the same results as phil when trying to log in.
For me the genarartion of a new account worked so far, until now.
When I tried to log in a minute ago, it worked
Don't tell me maggie fixed this on the weekend :woohoo:

Have you tried my trick. Create a new account with the same login and password as the old one with the registered units data.

This will get you into the system and in the "My Account" you should see all your units.

The problem with this method, as I just discovered, is that when you log out in order to again login you must use the Create a New Account method to log back in. Again using the old login and old password.

I must admit that it is a hack but it worked for me.

Yeah, I tried that over a week ago.
Nothing gets me in, I just get an error message.
I think I should of got some kind of a response from 'customer service' by now.
Or maybe I need an account (that I apparently no longer have & can't renew) to get a response?
If I ever get in touch with them I'm going to tell them to mail me the warranty for my 710, that way I'll know for sure it exists.
Of course that won't help me if the 710 dies cause I need a number from them to send it back and without an account I can't get the number!
The more I think about this the more upset I'm getting.
Even if they lost all their customer info they could of posted something about the problem on their Facebook or Twitter pages.
I've seen no mention of it there, in fact the only word I've seen about this problem was on this forum, just mentioned in passing on a thread about something else. That's when I found out I no longer have an account.

Thank you David, I appreciate your efforts.

All my info seems to be gone and when I tried to make a new account I get an error message saying to contact customer support.

All I really care about is the warranty on my 710.
The other 4 units and maps I had registered I don't care about.

I don't understand what happened to customer support, when the 710 wouldn't update they responded in a few hours, on a week-end and followed up with a phone call that Monday. Excellent support.
So it's not like they shouldn't know anything about me!

But now I've sent 5 e-mails in 11 days with zero response and the phone number is a recording telling me to e-mail customer support.
It's starting to remind me of Thales.

If I seem impatient it's only because I am! 🙁

David,

My apologies, I am sorry to hear that. All I can report is that the procedure worked for the two accounts that I have.

However, I am also surprised to learn that if Magellan still has the information on their servers then they should be able to unscramble the problem for all.

I lost everything. My account had disappeared completely. Units, info, everything ... No big deal, you just create a new one. Maybe more complicated for those with new units wanting to make sure their warranty info stays intact ...

This appears to be true for some, but not for all. I'm one of the individuals that this is not true for and personally I've lost all of my registration information on at least 5 GPSrs, several maps and some paid downloads...

Actually I found out that the accounts are not lost. At first, I could not log in. So I created a new account with the same login and password.

After recreating the new account using the same login and password. I then looked at my account and ALL my registered units appeared.

Apparently the data for each account is not lost just the link between the sign in and the data.

Hope that this helps the members.

Phil,

I forwarded your issue to Eric at Magellan and he said he would take action on it. If you don't hear anything from them in the next few days let me know.

David

Oh well, it didn't work. Same as 10 days ago I just get 'error contact customer service'.

I'll try calling their phone # again on Monday.

Thanks anyway.

It has taken me a week to get mine sorted out, but I finally got it to reset, only issue is that all of my units older than the explorist 600 and my maps do not show up..which is what someone in support told me back in November.

I've seen a few posts in unrelated threads about lost accounts on magellangps dot com, and I just got reconnected with mine today. All my devices are still registered. Customer support sent me this link:

https://checkout.netsuite.com/.....redirect=T

Hope it helps you, as well.
