I too had the spinning compass, pretty sure that bug affects everyone. After repeated failure to calibrate, I powered off then back on and was good the rest of the day.

The compass comes out of calibration whenever I go from 'Vehicle' mode to "geocaching' or 'hiking' mode, but if I move around or just wave it a bit it calibrates itself every time.

Make sure you have the battery type set correctly also, when I forget to change it to 'Alkaline' after taking out rechargables the compass will get kinda screwy.

Yes, I did activate "Use External Memory", so that might very well be it. Thanks for the info, I will look it up!

It could be you are logging your data on the SD card. I went to synch up my track log with VP last night. VP did not pick up the tracks stored on external memory. I just manually loaded them.

Check your SD card.

By any chance, is your unit set up to "Use External Memory" or something like that ? I have maps on a MicroSD card, and was using that setting. They wouldn't appear if the External Memory option was on. Once I unchecked that box, logs all appeared fine.

Incidentally, even with that option off, the unit sees all my maps on the SD card, and I can also send pics and videos to the card, by selecting External Memory for the pic output location.

Using firmware 6.05 and am experiencing something odd. Everytime I find a cache, I log the time I found it, as well as other details (wet/humid log, cache found elsewhere than posted coords, etc.) so I can add it later to my log on geocaching.com

However, on several instances, the log seems to vanish! The GPSr will still indicate the cache as being found (displayed with the smiley face), but my log with my timestamp and log details all but disappear, as if I had never input them in the first place.

This only seems to happen if I log several caches in one day, but won't happen if I find one or two caches.

Besides that, I also experience the compass losing its calibration, like many others have posted before.
