And that makes caching more fun um....how? (Supposed to be a in a funny joking tone...not flaming you or anything...just think this whole thing now is crazy). I use the dashboard when I'm zeroing in on one within 100' and it's getting really frustrating having the thing lock up. That's gonna be really fun on the 9+ mile hike I've got for tomorrow....I'll prolly end up at the north pole. Wonder if that's what's goin on...true north and magnetic north are now fighting for control? LOL

When the unit is operating in compass mode and the compass drops out of calibration it appears that it will not correctly update your location or distance to cache etc. Re-calibrating the compass (if you can do it) will get the unit updating correctly again.

Some strangeness is showing up on my unit this evening. Having updated to latest 5.xx firmware the other day, I went out searching caches today and found 5-6 and seems like on almost all of them the compass would drop out into yellow then red several times while searching. Also, a MAJOR problem was the distance to end not updating correctly. It would show 45 feet then all the sudden 3 feet or so (I know there is a margin of error for accuracy of about 16 ft or so) but it also maintained a 15 ft or so distance for some of them eventhough I was about 50 ft+ away from the cache. Took a minute or so for it to finally "catch up" I suppose. Dunno, but I loved the unit before the update....now....not so much...wish I could go back. Anyone know if it's possible to downgrade the firmware to the older 3.xx firmware? (current one sucks...sorry but it does)
