Nope, you are correct.
It's a cable with many (7 or 8) adapters.
Only found 4 adapters in my drawer but one was right! :cheer:

The Magellan cable pictured on the bottom (with S/N#) will work fine.

Look closely at the picture on the web site, the right angle cable shown won't fit in the X10, the angle goes the wrong way! 🙁
Be thankful you got the straight cable. 🙂

On the bright side I found an angled cable in my spare parts drawer that fits;

Spin the unit upside down & you can plug the cable in.

A concern I have is the rubber cover is starting to rip.

I also found the power cable for my Magellan Premium Car Kit (iPhone mount).
See if you can order this cable;

Just received my windshield mount and it is a bit fiddly to get the plug into the GPS. I hit the bulls eye once with a direct blind hit getting the plug into the socket, but couldn't do it again. After that I had to loosen the tension dial, turn the whole unit to the side, plug the lead in then re-position the GPS and tighten it up again. There goes the quick "plug in the GPS into the cradle and your off for the next cache" scenario!

Also I was hoping to get the right angled end type plug that was shown on the picture of the mount on the web site, but I got the straight one which means the mount has to be placed up higher on the windscreen to clear the plug from the dashboard. Also thought that the RH type plug would have been easier to connect.

Nobody else has it yet. 🙁
I guess there's no telling when/if they will ship to Germany.

If you don't want to wait for Maggies resellers to be supplied, send me a PM or an e-mail with your shipping address and I'll get another one to ship to you. Or you could order it, ship it to me and I'll ship it to you.

Either way we can work something out. B)

My e-mail - [email protected]

Or you can wait until March 21 for the RAM mount to be available.

After playing with it I've found that rotating the bracket and using a cable that is at a right angle instead of straight I can get the cable on & off with out much hassle.
That's the power adapter from Magellan in the picture.
The GC is no problem, it slides right off.

I see that the unit brackets can separate from the windshield bracket. Might it be easier to separate the 2 halves with the connector in place, to mount/dismount the unit ? Like, you would plug the unit in, then put the unit mount on the unit, then assemble the 2 halves with the unit attached ? Could it be done this way, or too difficult while the mount is on the windshield ? And that is a pretty big connector, sticking out the bottom. Looks bulky and rigid.

ps - you'll have to break out the Easter Homer and put away the Christmas Homer ..... lol !

The new windshield mount showed up this morning.
Three days, nice fast shipping.

It comes with 3 brackets, 1 for the GC, 1 for the X10 and 1 for the 'Tough Case', (that's a case for an iPhone).
No disk to mount to a dashboard.

It's well made with a good suction cup that holds very well.
The units slide in place easily and stay put, will not come loose by accident.
The brackets are padded, won't vibrate.
Everything fits and works fine.

The only problem is the power cable connection.
With the X10 it will not slide on the bracket while the cable is plugged in.
When I have the mount on my windshield I can't plug the cable in or unplug the cable to remove the 710.
I have to remove the whole mount from the windshield to plug it in or unplug it.
With my truck it's too close to the dashboard. If I mount it high enough to clear the dash I can't easily see & use the unit.
Even mounted high enough to keep it clear the cable at an angle is very difficult to plug in if you can't see it.
If I loosen the collar & rotate the unit I can unplug it.

The GC will go off & on the bracket with the cable plugged in.

My only complaint with the 710 is the power cable plug at an angle, it should be straight, like the GC. 🙁

This is a very good mount. B) :cheer:

The lanyard came also, picture is posted to prove it's length. 🙂

I didn't see that it includes the metal disk to stick to the dashboard like my Garmin iQue M5 has. I'll be waiting for your report. I use my iQue for turn by turn so I would be using both.

Thanks

The eXplorist Vehicle Kit is for sale on Maggies web site!
It consists of windshield mount and 12 volt power cord.

I just ordered one and the lanyard, when they show up I'll post report on them with photos.

Oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boy, new stuff to buy & play with! :silly:
