I found a Mountainsmith Cyber II (Medium) Camera Case at Amazon (~$20.00) & REI that works great for my x710.

I attach it to my pack shoulder strap. The fit is just right...not too big and not too small. The GPS can be secured by a zipper (which I don't use) or the top flap fastened by velcro. The way it fastens to your belt (or pack) is with another flap that is secured by velcro. There is no additional belt clip.

Internal Dimensions are: 3.75" x 2" x 5.25". Weight is 4.23 oz.

Excellent presentation about your carry cases, Phil - and I thought you said you weren't very good with computers? I have NO idea how to do something like that!!

Thank you Rick,

Learning about HTML code was fun and it's relatively easy.
But when it comes to programing I mess up about half of what I try so I'm very careful to not totally wreck my toys. Laugh

In combination with a fanny pack the protection-case is very comfortable.

No need to fiddle around for getting the eXplorist out of the case. No fatty finger taps on the screen. That means a better visibility and handling. And it is very easy to clean.

The eXplorist is waterproof. Correct. But what is easier to clean? A muddy eXplorist or a muddy case?

How ever, my solution has to charm me. Not you... 😉

In my opinion a skin tight case is not needed for the explorists.
They are waterproof and have proven to be pretty tough.
I like a case that I can carry some spare batteries, small light, pen and stuff in.

I wrenched my back yesterday & the doctor says rest for a few days, I'm bored and it doesn't hurt to play with the computer so here's my take on a good carry case - Phil's Carry Case

Neat, is this something you made or bought? And is it specifically for the x10 series or something else that just happens to fit.

I googled "Protection-Case" thinking it may be a name brand but nothing came up.

This case is not in production any more.

But there will be a possibility to get this one from the original producer.

As soon as I know anything more I will inform you. Stay tuned. 😉

My new Protection-Case with window, belt loop and snap hook:

Carriable with lanyard or fanny pack.

The eXplorist 710 stays clean, dry and unscratched. The window of the Protection-Case is easy to clean.

The operation and visibility are top... 😉

The Lowpro Rezo 50 is a good match for the X10.

If you are looking for a carry case for an X10 I just got a 'MicroPak' from GPS Outfitters that's perfect.
The MicroPak sells for 14 bucks, here's a link;
