The power adapters only power the unit. Since the unit can use various types of batteries, you would not want the unit to charge alkaline batteries by accident and ruin your GPS.

I've read the pdf manual for my x610, but have not seen anything about powering up and/or charging the unit via USB. I know Magellan sells car adaptors and AC adaptors, but do these only power the PGSr, or do they also recharge your batteries?

If so, is there a setting somewhere in the menu that I have to activate?
