Darren, Please do this..
1) Assuming your are using Windows Vista, Win7, Win8
2) Uninstall the VP
3) Delete the entire directory c:\MagellanDrivers
4) Delete the entire sub-directory c:\Program Files\Magellan\VantagePoint ONLY THIS SUB DIRECTORY.
5) Do a Hard Reboot .. that is completely shut down the PC and then restart.
6) Install the new VP.
7) Repeat Option 5
8) DO NOT START VP but instead go to the bottom task bar and right click on the VP icon. Uncheck start Lite on bootup.
9) Repeat Option 5
10) Now you can start the newly installed VP.

I have downloaded VantagePoint but it keeps crashing. So I proceeded to uninstall the program. However it won't allow me to do this as it says VantagePoint Lite is running. However when I use the Task Manager it shows that Lite is not running. I'm feeling very dismayed as I purchased the Magellan recently with the expectation I could use the PC features. Can anyone assist?
