Nice Try, San Dimas, we cannot report that we could find any real bug fixes. We only reconfirmed that most of the real issues were ignored. Maybe some of our members can help by reported some good fixes.

From what I have gathered, I am not going to get any improvements on the 710 that I now own with firmware updates.  I will have to buy another 710 to get the benefits and that is not going to happen.  If my 710 dies on me, I am seriously considering going over to Garmin - and that is after 9 years of being with and supporting Magellan (and defending them for a long time I may add).

 

So regurgitating all of the fixes that are needed to make the 710 the best unit on the market is - well I am sorry to say rather pointless considering the lack of response from Magellan.

OK .. I am sure that many of you have had a chance to try the new Firmware 7.1+ versions

Now is the time to report to Magellan what they missed and what are the good features you consider were incorporated into the new versions.

So far the reactions from your side are very PARSE.

1) First .. thanks for the updated Instruction manual .. you can download a copy from our URL: http://www.jungleghost.com/Exp.....manual.pdf

2) They did not address any significant needs that we could see. (i.e. arrow size, incorrect battery capacity analysis, bad indexing, geocache -- nearest alarms, etc.)  In fact, the only good point is the new updating mechanism.  It prevents many users from creating loading problems.

As a matter of fact, the changes were not impressive.  Remember that we had the beta 7.03 to look at long ago.
