Thanks for the quick reply and the information. I must have been lucky and got the stable 7.28 version directly from Magellan.

Deville,

Thank you for a great question.  This answer applies to the 610 ONLY.  Originally a virus version of the 510 - 610 and 710's was made available with a virus.  Magellan corrected this oversight removing all versions but later put a virus free version for the 610 only on its website for download.

We do not know if you download the first version which has a virus or the official version which is OK.

However, for future readers:

eXplorist_710_7.29

eXplorist_610_7.28 ONLY OFFICIAL VERSION RELEASED BY MAGELLAN ON THEIR WEBSITE IS VIRUS FREE.

eXplorist_510_7.27

JG

I realize this may not ever get answered because it looks like its been a few years since anyone has really been active in these threads but I'm curious...

I have had an explorist 610 for about 8 years now. I have used it quite heavily over the years and the thing just keeps on ticking.

It has been running version 7.28 for years and I have not had a single issue with it. Is all 7.28 firmware infected or am I just lucky?
