Well chaps. Thank you for all your help. I have crossed to the darkside and have a fully functioning Oregon 450, straight out of the box! Unheard of with my 710.

Again, thanks for the help you have offered. I still have my GC and I hope, in the nicest possible way, that I won't have to come back for help.

Cheers,

Bobo

Ah, now I understand.

I know of no way to calibrate the screen.

I feel the same way about figuring out how things work.

I will send it back. But it's the weekend and I like to know how to solve these issues.

Screen calibration. When I touch a point on the screen an icon highlights elsewhere on the scree.  It's not set to highlight where I touch.

What calibration are you talking about?

What do you mean by "the screen calibration is shot" ?

If the batteries are corroded just send the dam thing back to the morons that sent it to you.

Hey, guess who's back...me!!

Grrr.

The lovely people at my Gps shop sent me a new 710...kinda. It looks as if it's an ex-display model as the batteries inside have corroded! I'm sure they'll take it back but I wanted to use it first to see if the maps work on it however, the screen calibration is shot and I can't find any advice on the manual or elsewhere. So I can't even access the menu!

Can you help me figure out how to calibrate the gps screen please.

Many thanks,

Bobo
