On Vantage Point in the Sync bar click on the map icon to transfer maps to and from VP & the 510.

There are a myriad of reasons. One is that the maps are home made and there extensions are not one of the selectable ones for VP.
Two the maps are on a memory card that VP does not like.
You must tell us more about the items in your GPS and on your memory card and which directories your files are in and what the extensions of the files are, etc.
Answer so far, is "two little data (information) for us to help."

What would cause Vantage Point not to show any maps in it or on my 510? Now when I'm in Vantage Point and have my 510 hooked up and go to the synchronize button all it shows are "Waypoints, Geochaces and Tracks". It won't show any of the maps so I can copy them from either the computer or the GPS.
