My two cents worth;
I've got VP Version 2 on both laptops, Vista 32 bit & XP.
The Magellan maps work fine and the Maps4me maps all work fine.
I don't have any MOBAC maps to test.
I haven't tried loading caches through VP.

Here's a cache I loaded using GSAK

I had been but won't be using it anymore, with the new eX coming I know it isn't needed. I had used the strip html &add logs macro for my triton before but it's now sold.

I never noticed anything in the settings about the map skin, never had enough time - it would crash within minutes.

Denis,

Sorry, I forgot about your issues with VP and I know that you're not the only one having these issues, but I have forward them ALL to Richard at Magellan and we're all trying to figure it out. I wish I could figure out the problem, but VP works fine on all 4 of my computers. One run Win 7 64bit, one running Vista 32bit and two of them running XP SP3!!!

One question - you're not using the Triton Macro with GSAK are you? Just wondering, because it isn't needed. I'll load a couple of PQs on my 710 with GSAK, which I have done in the past and see how the descriptions come out.

Also, about the Green hue in VP 2.0 - you can turn off the Map Skin under preferences and that will go away...

The "known issue", David, is it the "computer shuts down" issue with the latest version of VP ? I did try this version recently, and my laptop would crash everytime I'd mess around zooming a MOBAC Google Hybrid map. Reinstalled 1.73, and it never crashed since.

Besides, I don't like how the latest versions have that Green hue to the map screen when you zoom in with it. I don't know if that's a Mapsend Topo issue or a VP issue, but I never saw that color of map with 1.73. And 1.73 seemed to work well with the GC, did the Publish Geocaches to GC.com thing, all seemed well.

Anxious to see what happens when I connect my eX610CA unit to VP, the computer won't know what to do, it'll think that IT'S the add-on, and the eX is the computer ! Both our computers have XP SP3, and I really don't want to upgrade them, as they work so well.

Ok, I spoke to the guys at Magellan today and this is a known issue and should be addressed in the next release of VP...

I never tried the Summit map on VP, in fact I haven't turned VP on in over a month.
I'm waiting for the next update/version before I try it again, I don't want to upset David by ranting & raving about VP again.

And I don't want to upset myself either.

Hi,

I never had any issues with VantagePoint. But I just cannot load the US Summit map of the USA, supplied with my eX610

I can select it, and see the overview of the underlying sub-maps. But as soon as I zoom into detail level, VP crashes...

Did anybody here get it to work with VP?
