A true traveler, I try not to keep unnecessary in the bag.

After the hike the entire contents of the navigator I keep in one file GPX. Files stored in a folder Hikes. Separately have folders for the points and tracks on the areas.

Before the next hike I delete the entire contents of the VP and load that will be in the Navigator.

It is a pity that the developers have not given the option to remove data from eXplorasts. I already wrote about it.

I agree with Morel, after accidentally deleting some tracks I now routinely save everything on a thumb drive before I do anything with it on VP.

When in trouble or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout

That would be a helpful idea. But until that is implemented it is always a good idea to backup important data. Use the export function to save it in another location. Then you can import it back in if needed.

Maybe having VP Delete our files into its own Recycle Bin could be a quick add-on for the programmers to implement, just a new folder in My Journal called Recycle Bin. We could then go through and recover our oopses or empty the bin as we wish. David, what do you think ?

Having just accidentally deleted a track from Vantage Point, I would like to see VP provide some capability to recover from such disasters. This might consist of simply deleting the old database files to the recycle bin, although some sort of undo feature might be easier to use, although more complicated to implement.
