Ozi, Calculator, Car navigation... eXMod and Mortscript rotated the screen on landscape. Yes! I did it. Thank you!

Hi all. I have not found the navigator options to rotate the screen on the landscape. Maybe there are simple steps to perform this operation? Mortscript? Thank you.

Because of no good usable Wherigo "App" for the eX-serie, I decided to write my own. It's open source and located http://code.google.com/p/wherugo

I'm looking for someone, who can explain me the scripts written by the Wherigo Player.

Hi,

the eXplorist runs on windows mobile 5 (equals winCE)

Look for tools not needing an installation, as the explorist has no space on the windows partition to install stuff.

Ok, so I installed the mod, it functions nicely. But what else can you do with it ?

For example, can Pocket Streets be installed on it, and use the GPS of the unit? What other programs in the freeware world will function on it, and what do I search for if looking for some ? Pocket PC, win ce, ?????

I've sort of given up on WhereIgo, most of them in New England are sort of lame, either only work on a Garmin or work badly on everything, including Garmins.

Although I just got the whereIgo app for my iPhone, haven't tried it yet so don't know how it'll work.

I wonder, if anybody has tried a wherIGo player?
If so, succesfully? Which one? How to install?

WARNING!
DO NOT install this MOD in the internal memory
. You will kill your Unit!

Please only use it on SD card

Here you go: Release Candidate 1.0 DOWNLOAD (300kb)

This Version now allows multiple 3rd party applications to be launched. It is controlled by the eXmod.ini file. Open it with a text-editor (Notepad will do) and add/remove any applications. The current eXmod.ini file is the following:

##################################################################
# eXmod Version 1.0 #
# Description on how to include applications #
# Full Path & File name;Display Name; Reset GPS chip yes=1, no=0 #
# #
##################################################################
SDMMCiGO8iGO8.exe;iGO 8.3;1
SDMMCeXmodUtilitiesSuspend.exe;Suspend
SDMMCoziOziExplorerCE.exe;OZI CE
SDMMCeXmodChessGeniusChessGenius.exe;Chess

To add an application locaed on your SD card, e.g GamesTetris.exe and the application to launch should be shown as TETRIS
you will need to add a line:

SDMMCGamesTetris.exe;TETRIS

Additionally I included an optional GPS Chipset reset command, which needs to be executed after running iGO8 and before booting the Magellan software. To have your Cipset resetted after Application run and before Magellan boot, you can indicate it with the third parameter 1

I also changed the interface with two buttons for scrolling and one for execute the selected application.

If you tap on the little scull on top, a small keyboard appears where you can enter e.g your license key for OziCE. Tapping on the scull again closes the keyboard. Be sure you have a stylus at hand before usage.

Once the mod is run, it also creates a detailled log file on initialization and applications run. It is called eXmod.log and can look like this:

12/4/2010 12:00:00 AM-17:25:33 : eXmod initializing

Just got my 710 and tried the mod. Worked pretty good so far. Will do more testing tomorrow. Look forward to any new developments. Thanks Sockeye. I did notice that I need to update the IGO display so that it fills the entire screen.

I don't have my 710 yet, but I appreciate you providing this. I will try it as soon as I can.

Thanks again!

P.S. The start up screen looks fantastic.
