That *is* a bummer. 🙁 But it looks like NG has figured out a way to make more money for themselves while alienating their previous customers. With all the integration of data that users want these days, I can't see how their "Active 10" unit is gonna fly  ; Oooooooo...Digital topo maps in a handheld device...How novel  . Am I missing something? Or was NG bought out by the group that used to own Magellan before MiTAC stepped up?

Keeping my Triton 400 for now...But I'm looking forward to the developments with the x10 series, as well.

That will be dishearting to say the least...I also sunk a chunk of change into a US and state program of theirs....would bite not to be able to use them on the units...

I have a few Triton units and I use the National Geographic TOPO State maps. I also now own an Explorist 510 in addition to my 610.

So I called and wrote to National Geographic and asked them if they are going to have a patch for my Version 4.5

Both inquiries resulted in the company saying that they cannot support everyone and that the new Magellan Explorist are not on their "to do" list.

I know that I can always buy the Summit Series from Magellan but with all the National Geographic software I purchased this is a "bummer" 🙁

I thought that other members would be interested in this finding.
