I love my ex 610, and I hope you will too. The learning curve is a little steep, but only because of all the functions.

Assigning either of the buttons to "Geocache Details" is probably the most useful feature that I have on my GPSr. I find it to be indespensible and I am pretty sure non of the other brands have the same feature - I will stand corrected if someone knows better.

Hi saskcacher,

Welcome to the forum, we are a friendly and hopefully helpful lot.

Both buttons on the left-hand side of your 610 can be programmed to many functions. Go into the Main Menu page from the main screen (bottom left-hand corner) then select Tools (bottom middle) then Settings. Move down through the options until you find ‘Assign Button Function’ select that, select the button you wish to use for cache details then scroll down the list and select Geocache Details.

Now when you press the hard button you will bring up the cache detail page. Press the button again and you will revert back to the map screen.

Graham.

I use my ex610 for geocaching and am wondering if there is a way to use the top button, when I am on a go to,when I press the button it would show me the description, then when I tap the back button it would take me back to the compass page.By top button I don't mean the on/off button.
