I've reported this to Magellan, however, with a new firmware update coming out there isn't going to be anyway that they're going to be able to look at it before this coming release. So, we'll have to keep our eyes open to see if the new firmware has the same issue.

Later,
David

Whip, I have seen this bug at least 2 times. But only with 4.23. In one case it helped, that I rebooted the device. All at all, I think, there was a issue with the UGDS.bin file. (There is another thing with this file)

But I'm convinced, this happend only on the 4.2x BETA

One suggestion/question, were the caches on the SD card or internal memory?
The reason I ask is a couple of weeks ago I dropped my unit while returning to the truck, on a concrete bridge (it bounced nicely)!
When my heart stopped it's palpitations no caches showed when I tried to find the nearest cache, so I shut it down to reboot but the batteries were low.
When I changed batteries I noticed the clip and card were loose. I fixed the loose card & clip, put in new batteries and everything was fine.

Otherwise I've had no trouble at all and I've been using the car navigation exactly as Miniwhip described almost daily for months.

Someday I may learn to use a lanyard.

Not sure if this is related, but I lost the history of previous locations I had entered into the unit when using the auto navigation. I had two locations to go to in the US when I visited there so I entered the locations before my trip. I made it the the fist one ok, but when I was going to the next one the unit locked up when I pushed the go button. I turned it off and when I turned it back on all the addresses I had entered were gone (even old addresses). The lesson I learned here was to make sure I write down the addresses I am going to go to on paper and keep it with me on any trips that I make.

Agreed. THis is a first. Hopefully a last, besides this issue, the unit has been stellar.

OK, so i've entountered what I consider to be a significant bug, and want to see if anyone has seen, or can try to duplicate this.

I decided to get some long overdue caching while on business in Michigan. Found a few good ones and started off.

Set to the car navigation profile, chose a cache to navigate to. After the driving portion was over, left the car (gps was not plugged into dc power) and gps asked to switch to point-to-point. I said yes. At this point I never changed profiles, just used PTP from here. After finding the cache, from the map screen chose the bottom right 4 corner menu, and marked as found. Entered a short note, and hit the green arrow. On my way back to the car, started to search for the next nearest cache, but all waypoints and Geocaches were gone!

Tried a reboot, and changing to the Geocaching profile. No dice. Tried to suspend, reboot and all other tricks, still no joy.

Has anyone else had this issue? David, can you send this link to our friends at Maggie for me? I'm without my outlook at the moment. Thanks!

Clarification - eX710 firmware version 4.23
