I am running MOBAC 1.9.5

Use this xml script today in the mapsources folder and did a google hybrid no problem:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<customMultiLayerMapSource>
<name>Google with Hyb</name>
<tileType>PNG</tileType>
<layers>

<customMapSource>
<name>gogole</name>
<minZoom>0</minZoom>
<maxZoom>18</maxZoom>
<tileType>PNG</tileType>
<tileUpdate>None</tileUpdate>

<url>http://khm.google.com/kh/v=102&x={$x}&y={$y}&z={$z}&s=Galileo</url>

<ignoreErrors>true</ignoreErrors>

</customMapSource>

<customMapSource>
<name>Hyb transparent</name>
<minZoom>0</minZoom>
<maxZoom>18</maxZoom>
<tileType>PNG</tileType>
<tileUpdate>None</tileUpdate>
<url>http://mt0.google.com/vt/lyrs=h@159000000&x={$x}&y={$y}&z={$z}&s=Galileo</url>
</customMapSource>
</layers>
</customMultiLayerMapSource>

Hmm...can't get that link to work but I get the general gist of where you're trying to send me so I'll do a search for that extracting geodata referenc from geotiff.

Looks like our state is currently in a 3 year program to acquire a RGBI Lidar 1 ft resolution and YIPEE! Center of the state is complete! This looks VERY promising if I can get it all to come together.

LOL Ok....Yeah, I've been trying to get the entire state imaged and so far have the center to the bottom done. Now just need the top half of the state and I'll be happy. I sometimes take wild weekend adventures and never know where I'll end up so would like to be ready for just about anything. Not actually "used" every square mile of what I've made but would be nice to have it available and not have to wait for it to be created is what I'm looking for. I typically utilize zoom 16,17, and 18 and that pretty much takes care of what I want. Right now, I'm trying to look into the ArcGIS database that our local university has online with 2011 satellite imagery. Just trying to get for free what vantagepoint offers at a subscription. Gotta be a way to do it but so far looks like they provide several different formats for download including something called a geoTIFF tile....Dunno what that heck that is yet, just getting started.

Based on your scale then I've always done "tiny" map areas and at high zoom levels. The IMI maps take care of the large areas. Average downloads are under 20,000 tiles. I don't need image maps of areas I am not going to "really use".

I kept it fairly small....below 150,000 tiles and it errored out big time...use to be able to grab up to just under 500,000 max...

Keep it small. Just did a 20 sq/mi earlier today with G terrain, hybrid, and topo.

Just tried to do the old Google Hybrid tonight and seems as tho they've either finally converted/blocked MOBAC access or something is wrong on my end..... Anyone else tried to make an atlas with MOBAC with 1.8.1 and Google Hybrid recently? I made one about a week ago and it was fine???
