I use the same one for my cell phone as my E710, works fine and I only need one charger in the car.

The AC adapter that I got from Magellan is 5V and 1A. Don't buy too cheap. I have a real cheap one that will not provide enough power. Get something from a trusted company.

Don't know if they were "appropriate" or not but I've used both my ipod mini-usb cord/cig lighter adapter and a cell phone cig lighter to mini-usb combo. They've both done well in keeping the unit powered with no noticeable ill effects.

It is USB-mini. As long, as the output is like the USB-standard, the power plug should work.

anyone here know which type of vehicle (lighter) power adapter is appropriate for an x10?

is there a certain output voltage which is appropriate, or not? or are they all the same? as long as it has the mini-USB connector.

seen one from "rocketfish" which has different output adapter plugs.

any experience and advice?

i asked the initial question on magellan's facebook page, and they simply suggested that i wait for their car package sometime in january.

thanks in advance 🙂
