Our Host Company Network Solutions had a big problem.
We discovered it and reported it some 39 hours ago. We could not hit any of our domains.
At first, the Company reported everything was running so we had to prove to them that they had a problem with their servers.
That took 16 hours .. at that point other reports from customers confirmed that the problem was across the USA.
Finally, we gave them enough input to get their access team in high gear. The problem was just resolved.
We apologize that we were unable to inform you earlier.
We have just turned on the automatic subscription feature. You may now subscribe to a particular forum or to individual messages.
Remember that in order for you to receive the subscription information you MUST GO TO YOUR PROFILE AND MAKE SURE THAT YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS CORRECT.
We wish to apologize for the time that the forum would not allow members to log in. Our provider (Network Solutions) deemed it necessary to inconvenience all its patrons who were using WordPress software by forbidding (403 error) entry into the log in section.
Guests could visit the forum but the membership was unable to enter the forum and new members could not sign up.
As a matter of record since 12/3/12 our new software has repelled over 22,000 spammers. So one can understand the problem currently on the Internet and effecting the “righteous”.
Some of our members have guided us to the fact that we have insufficiently addressed the effective use of the X10 Explorist for Geocaching.
They are correct and I offer my apologies. So I have moved Geocaches to the Front Burner. You will find a New Forum Topic addressing this sector on the top section of the forum.
Please help by adding in your inputs and making our home more responsive to our fellow members.
Recently, I just returned from a visit to Canada. Rather than take my camera, I traveled with new 710 with the new LCD and the new Camera.
I wanted to test some new maps for North America and the new camera. The maps were deadly accurate at 800:1
The pictures were fantastic and much improved from my old X10. So I took nine of them and made a slideshow for the Header of this website.
You can see the results of the photographs. The originals photo’s were 1250 pixels wide and I just cropped them to 940 X 200 images to fit the Header.
Judge for yourself how good they are. I am sure that Magellan would also appreciate your comments.
A member just remarked that he misses the ability to review the new posts when he enters the Forum.
On the bottom of the FORUM you will see a “ALL RSS” box which will allow you to send new posts to the forum or even better have them send to your computer.
Bad News on Avatars. Apparently the Avatar’s on the old forum were kept off-site.
So we were unable to retrieve them. The solution to this problem is very simple.
Go to the FORUM and login to the forum and click on the Task Bar which has Member …. Profile …. etc. This will bring up a new screen which will allow you to upload your favorite avatar.
Sorry but this is the best that can do.
